Four of us dined last night at this venue and found it a great experience.
I just had to try the Handcut Trice Cooked Chips, so we all shared a bowl as a starter.
I'd have to say the BEST chips served in Hobart!!
Steve Cumper would be impressed I reckon
For mains I had Lamb Rump with Olive and Truffle Mash. This was really lovely, The lamb cooked beautifully and the mash excellent.
Deb had Chargrilled Blue Eye with cous cous, harissa and lemon butter. I loved the cous cous that she shared and thought I'd would go with the lamb as well if not better than the mash. Deb said the fish was lovely but we all thought it was a little overpriced at $32.
Sue absolutely raved about her Linguini with Mussels, Chilli, Lemon and Parsley. I got to taste the pasta and it was divine and at $22 great value. Trace had a steak which she ordered well done and it was, but we still got to try and it was gorgeous.
A lovely venue that reminded me a bit of the Grain in Newtown.
Very busy by the end of the evening with chips flying out the kitchen door.
I have to say the service wasn't fantastic but a couple of smiles and I'm sure all will be well.
