Rita's New Kitchen

Yes - it's finally happening. This Thursday and Friday my long-awaited kitchen will be installed.

In this age of instant gratification for all you Gen X'ers, this is my lifelong dream finally fulfilled. In all my adult life, practically everything I have owned has been second hand. I haven't had a problem with that at all, don't get me wrong. I was just glad to actually have things, let alone worry about whether or not they were new or used.

But - at long last, I have finally earned the pleasure of a new kitchen. Mine. Commissioned and paid for by only me.

I would have been quite happy to die without it, but it came to pass that following a series of unfortunate circumstances, I needed to do this.

So - I've managed to get myself invited to dinner this Thursday, when my kitchen will be half finished, then, if it's not done by the weekend, I'll be forced to camp down at Blackmans Bay outside Dom's Asian for dinner on Sat & Sun!

Nellie and Kitty are both having new kitchens as part of their renovations. I hope they will get as much satisfaction from their big new jobbies as I know I will in my little old aged pensioners home kitchen!

Enjoy you new kitchen, Rita.
I'm sure every bite from it will be spot on.

Cheers, Sir Grumpy.

Thanks Sir Grumpy. I definitely will.

I can't wait. Have also invested in my first set of new saucepans in honour of the occasion. Just paid off the final layby payment. (Habitat sale - set of 4 reduced from $500 to $300.)

Those will also get christened.

Oh Rita,
How lucky you are!
New kitchen, new cookware,
A very special feeling.

Hi Christina

Thanks for that. Thanks also for the reference to taste.com.au you made on Gobblers site recently.

I hadn't heard of it, and found it very interesting. I've bookmarked it as a favourite.
