Ambling to Peppermint Bay

Lunched earlier this week at Peppermint Bay. They have 3 pizzas there on the bar menu. We were three people who each had a different one.

Two of us found them OK but not "to die for", the other really enjoyed his.

Once again - it really does depend on what you yourself like. I had the smoked salmon one. I didn't expect the salmon to be cold on top of the (hot, cooked) pizza. A bit deceptive that one. Flo's pesto one she thought too oily, and was car sick on the return journey. It sounds awful but I can't recall what the third topping was. I DO know that Andrew really enjoyed his.

Anyway - I don't want to be too negative about the lunch there. I love Peppermint Bay and will always return there no matter what. Let's put it down to a poor choice of food on the day.

Hi Rita, how's things?
Pizza 3 has chunky mushrooms, parmesan cheese, pepper and sweet raspberry vinegar on it and it's really really good. The chefs can't stop eating it.

Hey legohead - that's right, I remember now, thanks.

Yeah - I think he ordered what we SHOULD have ordered. But - not to worry.

If I go pizza again there, that's the one I'll have. Really I fancied their fish & chips, but saw a serving coming out while I was reading the menu & it was WAY too much for my small tummy for lunch. Half that size would have suited me, hence the pizza order.

I'm trying to wean myself off my traditional favourite down there - the chowder.

Chowder's off the menu so you have no choice but to wean yourself off it. Next time have f&c off the kids menu; it's half the size and half the price, and just as good. Lots of little grannies with little tummies have the kids one, and after all, you are a granny!

Rude arsehole legohead - but you're right. I DID see f&c on the kids menu & thought would I be cheeky (or a tightarse) ordering it for myself?

And yes, I am a granny & that's what stupid old people do! Geez I hate the aging process when it turns you into this boring old bastard with all the usual old peoples ailments & worries!

Never thought I'd see the day!

BTW - what happened to the chowder?

Change is good; if the chowder stayed you'd have gotten sick of it eventually - now you'll always remember it with fond wistful longing..ahh, the good old days!

Thanks legohead. You know you've always got my custom and loyalty, no matter what you have on the menu.

I'll know now to go to Boathouse for the chowder fix!

I caught a whiff of piss-taking there too, in that sentence about....ahh, the good old days!

You young whippersnappers! Just you wait!
