Inaugural Hobart food bloggers lunch meeting

....was held today. The two attendees were Gobbler and Rita!

I have to admit to having had THE best time I've had for ages. Gobbler and I between us could talk till midnight and still not have stopped for breath!

It was very obvious to me why we have these blog sites - we would have to be the most single-minded individuals ever! We covered a huge variety of subjects, but all food related.

We gossiped, exchanged information and laughed at various posts, and comments we'd taken very much to heart over the year.

Thanks Gobbler. You're a prince among men.

RITA - YOU FORGOT THE MOST IMPORTANT BIT.....WHERE DID YOU DINE!

I knew someone would pick that up!

Good one hrv - it was a place called Venus in Rosny. Gobblers suggestion, and to my shame, I hadn't heard of it or known it existed.

It was quite good - but the company and chat was so dominant that I didn't pay as much attention as I usually would have done - and can't really do a review on it as I was so enmeshed on the conversation.

BTW - Gobblers latte came in a really nifty 'container' (for want of a description). You describe it, Gobbler. My powers of description are now exhausted after my talk-fest at lunch! It was branded 'Bodum' on the bottom.

Shit, I was your waiter and you did nothing but moan, the pair of you, and didn't leave a tip.

Sir G, you're absolutely so full of it!
We were the NOISY laughing table; there were no other males in the joint (as Gobbler so accurately pointed out - he was adding the testosterone to the room!) either working or eating; and Gobbler paid so I'm not sure about the tip.

But - you WERE the subject of some talk, rest assured!

Gobbler was telling me that a Melb blogger is arranging a bloggers picnic - for all bloggers and commenters. We were talking about that and who would come to one here. We hoped you'd come and make yourself known to us - but I must admit I said I wanted to wear the Sir G nametag! Just to put people off the scent!

Trust me, my scent would put everybody off _ all that Theakstons and pickled onions! But I'm glad you two had such a good time today.

Rita it was lovely to catch up with you & gossip about everyone else!

Keep on blogging Rita, your site is a daily read for me.

Oh & all of you out there who might be sticking their fingers down their throats & think this is a blogging-Kodak-moment-mutual-love-in, it is, so get over it!

Amen to that!

If the company and conversation is good enough, it matters not where you dine, that all becomes secondary.
