Cool Thai salad

This is THE most beautiful salad you'll ever eat in your life! Trust me! It's a Thai Carrot Salad. Yeah, yeah - carrot salad sounds boring, and you might not be overly fond of carrots - until you taste this baby!
This was part of last Saturday nights dinner at my Thai girlfriends place. I'll pop the recipe on the website soon.

What's wrong with normal carrots, Rita? Boil 'em for 20 minutes (sliced) British style.
These Thai friends of yours seem to want to make carrots taste Good. What's the point of that?
Gives you nothing to whinge about. Spoilsports.

That looks great...
BTW Rita - you are responsible for me gaining about half a kilo on Sunday..we went to Divinge (ack, spelling) for lunch. I "accidently" ate 2 slices of strawberry shortcake....

Oh Sir Grumpy - don't you want your hair to curl, and to be able to see in the dark?

Tassiegal - glad you ate at Divinge. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I do. Did you make yourself known to lovely Danie?

Rita ...I love most veggies and good Thai anything always works for me. I missed my plane, but got to eat beetroot at Peppermint Bay. How about posting the recipe for the carrot salad to share? I quite often just have veggies for an evening meal. Quite weird recipes sometimes. Fresh peas, asparagus, flat field mushrooms, tomatoes, new season cauliflower, young green beans and my very fav broad beans have all featured.
I'd like to include a link to your blog site as part of mine. Now that I'm finally leaving Tassie, would like to ne able to link the very few people that I have given the blog address to with yours. I'm going to do a proper post on divinge and Marque within the next week. Not sure of the netiquette of posting the link tho'
Many thanks beachie

Hi Sands - sorry about the missing the plane - hope you didn't have to pay too much extra to compensate, but great you got back to PB.

I've sent the Carrot Salad recipe to my webmaster - so it'll be on the website the minute he puts it up there.

You can add a link to any blog you want to. It's really up to you, and obviously if they're food-related sites of interest, people would like to visit them. Just go into your dashboard and it should be quite straightforward from there.

I'll watch your site with interest re your Divinge and MIV experiences.

Carrot Salad recipe is now on website. For those who want the penultimate salad experience - make it, and report back.

If that isn't perfection in salads, I'll come round to your place, make it myself and force-feed you!

Sounds lish Rita. Poor ol carrots get a rough serve dont they? I like what those Tunisians do to them also. Cant get enthused with carrot sauce but.
I know its super daggy but I love 'em roasted with honey & butter. I also wish that someone would breed carrots that scream when you pull them out of the ground. cool!

I love carrots but for the life of me they REFUSE to grow in my garden.

Buttered baby carrots, yum yum and yum. The humble carrot when pulled fresh from the ground cooked and accompanied with friends on a plate, reminds me so much of Sunday roasts in springtime. Fresh peas and new potatoes, all sounds so boring in a world trying to push the boundaries of gastronomic creativity, but honestly, if you can take one ingredient and show it at its best, then it is its best. I love carrots, good colour presentation and taste, goes with lots of stuff, very versatile.

Honey on carrots, Gobbler. Yuck. If they are any good they are plenty sweet. Screaming when pulled from the ground!
Man, are you checking the mushrooms you're eating?
