Reading through all the comments posted over the last few days on the post about the Hobart hospitality crisis has crystallised for me as to why I keep blogging. It's issues like this that people need to get together and talk about; express their innermost thoughts, and feelings, without the fear of feeling they aren't allowed to or can't express what their true observations really are; or just to get something off their chests which need to be aired openly, for whatever reason.
In the hospitality industry, it's nearly impossible to find the time to sit down with a bunch of like-minded people in an informal situation to say all the things that have been said here.
The blog provides the forum for these things to be teased out of the insides of someones head, and put down (at their own convenience) here on the blog for all to examine, think about, comment on and discuss publicly and immediately.
As a result, we have had a really relevant and topical discussion here about an issue that affects all of us, and which we should all feel we have the right to comment on and contribute to, if we want to.
I am genuine in my heartfelt thanks to firstly 'cold room' for raising the subject, then everyone else for making it into a hugely thought-provoking discussion.
If I stopped blogging tomorrow, I would not regret one minute of it due to discussions like this one.

I hope this is not a prelude to a bow & exit stage left Rita!?
No.
R.I.P Rossini's
Has it closed down?
Hi Rita
Keep up the good work. As an interested consumer who has only recently discovered your site, I have really enjoyed reading current and past blogs, and comments from others. I like that your blog is well written and thought-provoking, as well as helping me to decide where the next dining experience will be. Gobbler's site is also interesting - keep up the good work.
Susannah
windows all covered over? no sign of life - Rozzinis is closed - new Thai opening end of the month.
Hi Susannah - thaks for your comments. I'm glad you are enjoying our blog sites, and hope you are discovering some great places to eat.
Anon - that certainly sounds pretty definite. I'll go along with your diagnosis of Rossinis being closed down! Thanks. Do you reckon it could a casualty of what we've been writing about earlier this week? High costs of everything?
victim of changing market - not a feature in young dinning. The replacement is part of a rush of 'new' asian establishments coming in from NSW. They run on low cost high turnover model. More to come.
If it's good great... but...
4 Lunch elizabeth st closed - I'm told its being re badged and opening as a pie shop - yet to be confirmed.
Very quiet on the local scene this week - most report slow trade - school back soon, bad news in economic front, hands stuck in pocket. Looking up long weekends = good trade.
Back to the cool room - veg order in.
Thanks for your insiders reports, cool room.
4Lunch Elizabeth St possibly turning into Humble Pie, at a random guess?
The Lowerhouse has also closed... also co-owned by Simon Trewin..???
perhaps try Rapport next to Fish Frenzy and T42... fantastic cocktail list...
