A friend sent me the email info (below) today, and, full of curiosity, I called up the mobile number provided below, to find out more.
The guy behind this interesting idea is Ivano. His friend owns the cafe, Global Kitchen in Moonah (opposite BP, Main Rd, Moonah) which operates Monday to Friday. Ivano is from Italian extraction, and a master Italian chef.
He has other work, but has the old fire in the belly about cooking beautiful Italian food for people - so what better idea than to utilise a restaurant space which isn't being used on a Saturday night!
He has everyone pre-book. The menu is set. Voila! Minimal wastage; guaranteed clientele.
He has been running these dinners each Saturday night for the past 5 weeks, and it has proved extremely successful.
Sounds fabulous to me, and if I can get a group together, I'll be hot-footing it there to help in the eating of this great-sounding food soon.

I've got so much to tell you about our trip to Melbourne and have slowly been catching up on all your news since I've been away.
When I saw this great piece of news I thought I'd just get on and say I'd love to do this, to find I already am, so make it four this time Rita as Phil would love to come too.
My family all have other things on this weekend so as my Mothers Day pressie I get to stay home and catch up on all the blogging I've missed. I can hardly wait. I get to talk about food for hours!! Pure bliss.
So count Phil and I in on this one. Just say when.
