My post entitled 'The quest for culinary excellence' last Sunday 18th May drew an extraordinary amount of passion from readers. I have thought a lot about all the responses and have come to two conclusions:
that it was incredible to read, and feel, the level of passion actually demonstrated
that the various points of view were expressed in a more down-to-earth, natural way than the sanitised Sunday Tasmanian report.
I realise reporters must clean up all their articles, and present the united front of the paper, but my opinion is that to read everyones different opinions here on the blog, expressed the way they speak is way better, and gives you a much better idea of what people actually feel, especially if they don't have to put their name to it if they don't want to. They have the freedom (and permission) to say what they genuinely mean and think. (Surely what those poor Tibetans would dearly love!)
So - thank you one and all who contributed to this discussion. I will email Anne Ripper today and recommend she take a look at that particular post and comments to add to the mix of her feedback.
