Random Workplace Ombudsman audits in Food Service industry

Researching for a yearly huge report which my job dictates must be done round this time, I found the following on the TCCI website today, and thought it may well be of interest or relevance to some of my readers:

"Food Service Industry Audits

Attention – Employers within the Food Services Industry

Is your business a:
Butchery
Bakery
Fish/seafood Production
Poultry
Small goods/Grocer
Coffee Shop
Takeaway Shop
Salad Bar
Dairy Manufacturer

If you have answered yes, you must read this…

The Workplace Ombudsman has indicated that the food service industries will
be targeted for the next random audits. This is due to commence mid October,
followed by random auditing in early December through until March 2009.
These audits will focus on pay slips, wages and record keeping obligations, as
well as rates of pay (casual rates and minimum rates), penalty loadings
(weekend, late nights), allowances, meal breaks, approval and lodgement of
workplace agreements.
This would be an ideal opportunity to ensure your work practices meet the
requirements of current legislation. If you are unsure, or would like a TCCI
Workplace Adviser to conduct a pre-investigative audit, please contact us.
TCCI can customise an audit to your business!!!"

So - be warned, business owners of the above businesses!
