Sunday roundup

I have had three brilliant meals out in the last three days. Unfortunately my camera has packed it in, and as ideally I like to accompany posts with the odd photo, have refrained from writing about these places till I have the camera again.

The three meals/places are:
Lunch at Chrome – which was stunning, with fabulous service
Dinner at Piccolo – also wonderful
High tea at Hadleys – fantastic value for money, great food as well as brilliant service.

I intend returning soon to Chrome and Hadleys for a repeat of both, during which I will take pics.

Will def try Chrome next trip south. Just a lovely evening Friday @Piccolo. Yummy food well presented. Good service. Oh and the Pooley's Pinot Grigio was divine. x

I have been raving about High Tea at Hadleys. Above all, a wonderful atmosphere and great service to compliment the food.

I have just read GP review of Moorilla .. GP has lost the plot he is trash talking another decent restaurant.. Looks like he had to pay for another meal

I went to morilla with a foodie friend & we both concur with every word Graeme wrote. Also a friend of mine from interstate and a prominent mainland reviewer both came to a similar conclusion. It just did not live up to the promise. It would be in my top Tassie ten places but not my top five.

Is there an online copy? If not could someone copy and paste a copy? I'm out of the state and can't get a paper.... Not likely to remember to get one either when I get back! :D

On another tack, Rita...
Someone mentioned Onba being closed ``early'' on a Sunday.
A friend says on Sunday and Monday they sometimes close up earlier during the winter, as custom falls off on the cold days.
Passing traffic is thin on the ground then.

Interesting comments on Moorilla - This place always seems to polarise. I went there with friends who own a one hat Melbourne restaurant a couple of weeks ago and we all loved it. Shame, Mercury's reviewers not quite up to broadening their culinary horizons a little. We thought the service was great too.
