Series 3 My Kitchen Rules

I received an email from Katie at My Kitchen Rules HQ, asking for help in putting out the word for Tassie contestants in the next MKR series, so guys - if you feel like you can take the heat in the kitchen, why not give it a go? Here is the body of Katie's email: I was wondering if you might be able to help me? We are currently casting for the next series of Channel 7's My Kitchen Rules and would love to spread the word around all of Tasmania that we are now looking for contestants! I thought your subsribers might be the perfect food and drink lovers, who'd like to apply and be the next Tassie representatives on the show! I would really appreciate you to help me spread the word to as many 'foody' people and enthusiastic cooks as possible. It would be fantastic to spread the word as far and wide as we can. The information we'd like people to know is: Channel 7 are now casting for the 3rd series of My Kitchen Rules. We are searching all states and territories for passionate home cooks, who in teams of two will show off their culinary skills to impress Australia's favourite chef judges Pete Evans and Manu Feildel. If you have a love of food, a partner in crime, and an appetite for adventure, get in touch NOW!TO APPLY ONLINE go to www.mykitchenrules.com.au If you have any more questions please do let me know!

Happy Birthday Rita, have a wonderful day! Much love from Me and the wonderful Phil. xxxxxx

I agree somewhat Spag Blog, probably 90 per cent of TV is of no use or entertainment to me.
I would often rather a food program or documentary than all those shitty Friends, Seinfeld, Sux in the Shitty, Two and a half brain cells, Australian Idle, reality (what a conmcept) shows and the terrble morning nonsense with some person call koshy.
Or the miserable looking pair on ABC TV's 24 station early morning. They really look as if they don't want to be there.
But of the stuff I tend towards, ther are ones I dislike too.
Like that My Kitchen Rools, or the Aussie version of the Iron Chef (what happened to that?).
MasterChef is another after the shemozzle of the end stages of the first one...I won't be caught again.
Give me a Rick Stein, Jamie, Ainslie or that Korean woman and her French-Korean understudy, or Iron Chef...now sadly winding up.
Ah well, I have my books.

This blog is dead, pardon the puns.

Please explain yourself dickhead!!

anon 8.38. I think your comment is very insensitive especially considering Rita is very ill and back in hospital. Please show some empathy.

Firstly - thanks to all for the birthday wishes last week. They were much appreciated, even tho birthday was the last thing on my mind.
As Steve said in his comment above, I have been quite ill for the past month, and unable to eat or drink. Two stays in hospital combined with this over the last 4 weeks has knocked Rita around severely, and unable to focus on laptop, or Internet, let alone my blog, so I apologize wholeheartedly for this, but can't alter it.
Hopefully I will NOT die, as this blog will if that occurs! I am feeling better today than I have in weeks (possibly the medication!) hence reading comments here.
Unkind comment from commenter 12/4, 8.38 but the world is filled with unenlightened people, and who am I to question that?
I can't wait to return to the land of the living. Have a date lined up for a review of Ethos, and am overdue for some fine food from the kitchen of my loyal and most excellent friend and chef Steve at RVL.

I was wondering about your health, Rita. No news was bad news.
Get well soon and you know your loyal readers wish you all the best.
I saw that above comment and was a bit shocked by it.
On further reflection I'm sure it was just an unthinking comment from someone who didn't realise your circumstances.
Still....

So sorry to hear you've been so ill again Rita, our thoughts and love are with you. Lets hope your improvement continues. xxx

And by dead it should be obvious that in colloquial language and context it's likening this blog to a restaurant at 8pm on a Friday evening, where it's empty and very quiet.

It's not actually obvious, above Anon, that this blog is like 8pm on a Fri night in a restaurant. fri nights are actually busiest at that time on a fri night in Hobart.

9.30am anon. You sound like you are trying to justify your callous remark. Just desist.

I really enjoy reading your blog but your health is the most important thing at the moment. I wish you all the best and hopefully you don't have to stay in hospital again.

the cream's rising

Anonymous said...

yes you're right anon 12.43 16/04/2011-can always rely on Lebrina, Monty's, 373, Home Hill, Meadowbank to always raise the standard despite those new places intoxicated with serving small, underseasoned and too esoteric dishes that no one understands.
Yes, the cream alwsy rises and this cream will stand the test of time whilst the 'new' cream just wont be around for any significant time at all.

Despite a glowing review of Ethos in todays Merc, I am hearing of many experiences to the contrary. Think they should take this seriously.
