Following the success of our Cable Station Cooking Schools & Guest Chef Seasonal lunches and dinners last season, this year we have compiled a program of events for the forthcoming year.

It is a well-kept secret that the Northwest coast of Tasmania produces close to 80% of the island’s produce. With this in mind, this year’s program of events will also showcase 4 Slow Food Seasonal Producer’s Long Lunches at the Old Cable Station. At these lunches there are opportunities to meet local producers and enjoy fresh seasonal quality produce whilst learning about the processes involved in arriving from ‘the paddock to the plate’.

ABOUT SLOW FOOD: There are over 30 active convivia around Australia including all those in major capital cities as well as regional ones. Slow food convivia are basically groups of like-minded foodie people that share a common passion and promote the Slow Food principles by gathering to explore new tastes, meeting with producers to sample their food & wine and generally enjoying each other’s company.
