Well - if you'd asked me to make a bet on the meal at Black Buffalo, I wouldn't have even taken you on. I really did expect the worst for lunch there today.
What a wonderful surprise to get the most perfect pub meal I can imagine!
I ordered a Filet Mignon with chips and salad. I got exactly what I ordered, beautifully cooked to order. Tender, extremely flavoursome and topped with a not-packet mushroom sauce. The chips were fresh and crisp, and the salad fine.
My friend had the fish of the day which was trevalla, gently panfried and done to absolute perfection, topped with a slight sprinkling of toasted grated coconut. She said it was delicious.
I really must remember not to make snap judgements or assumptions. Black Buffalo, from todays meal, rates right up there with the best of them for me.
The service was fine; the place is your typical gaming venue so if you're wanting to go somewhere to be seen, this is definitely not where you want to be, but if a great pub meal is what you require, head on over there.
I'll pull my snobby head in now and eat humble pie for dinner tonight! Actually, it'll be the leftovers from Paesanos for dinner. Yumbola.

Bad luck about your crap parma at BB, Smurf. Like all those things in that pub food scenario I suppose - whatever happens on the day. I agree with Gobbler we have a right to expect consistency but I think there are so many variables in the pub kitchen that you probably won't get it.
That's why I was so surprised to get a great meal at BB.
Not quite sure about your being a big girls pair of pants tho.
