Khaow Thai

This restaurant feedback came in from my eating partner Chris, who has persistently nagged me to write about Khaow Thai for ages.

I myself use Khaow Thai only as a tummy filler. I don't have the loyalty Chris has, but, this is his story!

Hi Rita,

As an avid fan of Thai food I find myself frequenting one particular establishment, mainly due to their consistency in providing a wide range of nutritious meals at reasonable prices with great service to boot.
The Thai Khaow or as commonly known to one dedicated customer - Khaow Thai is open for business 7 days a week-Mon-Sat lunch 12-3 and dinner 5-9, Sun 5-9 rarely are they closed over a long weekend periods due to their popularity.
Being overtly positioned at 85 Harrington Street (near the turn-off to Centrepoint car-park and opposite little Bali) has made the Khaow Thai a lunch time culture for many employees, from various government departments and other businesses within Collins St and the cbd (including myself).
Seating capacity, whilst restricted to about 20 is not a problem as the service delivery is prompt, thus it ensures a steady flow of customers during the busy lunch period.
Lunch time specials incorporate a choice of two main dishes (3-4 to choose from) with rice for less than $10.00 and these would usually consist of Chicken and cashew nuts and a red beef curry complimented with rice and vegetables, just to name a few.
An expansive menu will cater for others (including vegetarians) who may like to wait and dine in or take their selected choice to go!
The Khaow Thai gets my vote Rita, great nutritious food and service at a price that doesn’t break the bank!!!

Chris

So....that's his review. It's a tribute to Chris' love of Thai food and particularly Khow Thai.
Make you happy now Chris? Have a great day at Peppermint Bay, Grandvewe & Clarence Boardwalk music fest - what a perfect day for it!

Chris you are obviously devoted to this restaurant I'll have to try it. Have you visited Thailand yourself, having developed such a fetish for the fine cuisine? Or do you intend on visiting in the future? Many great experiences in Panang :)
