Tuckered out!

A whole week has passed and no posts from Rita! Believe it or not, I have sat down in front of my blog site every night this week, waiting for the usual inspiration to come to me - but - nothing!

A few friends have commented on the lack of reading material from me.

I think, as many have pointed out recently, I've been out eating so much over the last month, that I'm well and truly over it, for the time being. That may sound odd, but if you are passionate about food (as I claim to be in my profile here), you are just as passionate about (and critical of) the food you cook at home for yourself as you are about food you eat at restaurants and cafes.

It's all very well dining out for every meal if you don't care too much for those other aspects to do with food, but if the buying, and preparing and cooking of your food is just as important to you, well, eating out constantly just doesn't cut the mustard for me I'm afraid.

I love the challenge of selecting the meal I feel like eating today, then making it. I am more critical of my own cooking than I am of anyone elses, so these mealtimes assume way more importance for me. They're a challenge. I have always given myself marks out of 10 for the results of my cooking, and I am way harsh!

So - I've had a quiet week in this week. Let's see what next week brings!
