And for a bit of scuttlebutt...

Heard around the traps the following:

A large amount of Sals staff have walked out, leaving them requiring Head Chef, Second Chef, apprentice(s) and waitstaff

Globe Hotel have closed their kitchen - due reportedly to not having anyone to work in the kitchen

Head chef at T42 heading off to WA for a total change of career to earn squillions more dollars than he would have here

New Sydney having trouble as well finding kitchen help

and finally...... overheard at the hairdressers this afternoon:

Someone talking about their experience at Dunally pub last weekend enjoying a meal and needing an additional serviette, reaching across and grabbing one from the adjoining vacant table, which, when she opened it out, contained a set of false teeth! Apparently staff, when she went to the counter to tell them about it, thought she was joking and said exactly that.

On checking, they realised she was being fair dinkum. Luckily a known local had been the previous occupant of the table, and had gone home not realising he'd forgotten said choppers!

Obviously would have been a bloke - no woman could leave her handbag or any such vital thing as teeth!

Hi Rita,
Not surprised at all about the mass exodus from Sals. I have refused to go there for about six years now due to two different experiences of terrible service and not so great food. I wrote a three page letter to the management at the time and am still waiting for a response. Obviously they just don't care. I'm positive if they weren't located in such a prime position, Sals would have been history a long time ago.

Hi Christina

Sounds like you received shoddy treatment at Sals. Six years ago the owners were different to todays, so I don't know that we can extend the blame quite that much, but I understand your frustration at not ever having this issue resolved.

The new owners maybe need to look at their tactics for review, or Sals will continue to maintain that revolving door employment reputation they have had for so many years.
