OK - I've thought about it for a day, and spoken about it to a few at work. I'll take a deep breath and press on.
Basically - I'm mortified to say this, but I pretty well have to agree with Graeme's assessment, except for the personal chef comments.
The restaurant is a standard pseudo-upper class restaurant. I choose those words carefully. The prices, I think, are hell high. I think $30 for ten Oysters Kilpatrick is WAY too much. That's just me though. If the food tastes gorgeously fantastic, I'm happy to pay this fortnights pay packet for it. Our food at Lenna definitely wasn't.
It was, to be honest, ordinary. It definitely wasn't bad food. But it definitely wasn't great.
I'm SO sorry Lenna. I went there all psyched to give you the best rave you've ever had. Then I was stuck with my extreme disappointment after my ordinary meal.
We shared an entree of:
Spinach & Haloumi Agnalotti
Lenna made with a filling of spinach & haloumi with fried shallot, garlic & chilli dressing with Grana Parmesan $16
My companion then had a Main of:
Smoked Chicken Breast Pappardelli
House smoked chicken through fresh pappardelli with green olives, roast capsicum, sugar snap peas & basil with sun dried tomato & pine nut pesto (lactose free) $25
I had an entree for Main of:
Beef Cheek
Slow cooked in stout through ferrone carnaroli rice with a hint of bitter chocolate and marscapone $19
That was it.
My friend, a great wine drinker, said the amount and variety of wine sold by the glass was fantastic.
The service was very attentive and friendly. But with all the competition in Hobart for eating out options, Lenna will really have to work on it a bit if they want more of us to go along there. If they're happy with the current clientele of in-house guests, sprinkled with the odd local, then leave it as it is.

Sorry to hear you were disappointed by Lenna, Rita.
What can you say, you gave it a shot with the best intentions, after all the exchanges through your site and Gobbbler's and it came up shy.
OUCH!
However, your Asian Teahouse feed from Dom will at least have you feeling reinvigorated.
And the prices for what you get are so reasonable.
He just keeps wokking it out that old Dom. It's obvious it means everything to him to delight his customers.
I think I'll have some tomorrow!
Cheers, Sir Grumpy.
PS. Has Gobbler had a feed at Dom's? I'd like to know how he went if he did!
