Where are you, Sir Grumpy?

The question on the lips of many - where the hell has Sir Grumpy gone? Love him or hate him, his non-appearance in the form of blog commentary is something we are all very much aware of.

So, my question for today is the above.

BTW - the above pic is of the famed Canberra Yacht Club. I realise a few readers on this blog may find this shot of the moorings a bit of a contrast to their usual Yacht Club expectations, but on the positive side, at least they're giving it a go! I think you guys can probably kiss goodbye to reciprocal agreements regarding mooring your boats there!

If you want the worst service, wait over 2 hours for your meal, rude waiters and then have all of the above blamed on the kitchen staff go to the shipwrights arms, what a shithouse experience. The managment needs a shake-up there.

Hi Rita

from one who probably does care...yes, I have missed the comments from Sir Grumpy too. There are few experiences more frustrating that encountering a witty and entertaining contributor to the blog world, only to have them disappear. Where is the Hobart Restaurant Bitch? Where is Sir Grumpy?? Knowing them only by there virtual personas, we can't even trace them in the non-virtual world. It leaves one with a strange sensation. If a blogger falls in the forest, and no-one hears it.....????

GP's comments about the Boat House in Sunday Mercury being one of the few restaurants that make everything in house surprises me. There are more than he obviously realises - GP should get off the who's who list and start discovering the undiscovered. I wish we could read articles about something new rather than the same old top 10 list.

Here here.

I've been making my own duck confit for years. So what. Not really that challenging and very cost efficient. That seems to be his benchmark for any Hobart restaurant.
