We had a Mykonos souvlaki between us on Sunday, Rita.
Lamb. Delish. Don'tknow how much as missus hopped in for it while I found proper parking spot. And she bought other stuff.
And the Doner kebabs at Fishkens in Blackmans Bay shopping centre are HUGE. They are over $7 but what a feed....does both of us for lunch unless we are starving!
And nice chips too...at 2.40 or so, their small serve is a bargain.
See we're at the top-end of dining again, Rita....
Sir G - I must say I'm feeling pretty concerned for you. Using Mykonos as the yardstick? You said the souvlaki was delish but I want to know was it real lamb? I'm fed up with that pressed meat substitute they seem to serve you now. Just because a sheep sneezed on it, they are entitled to call it a Lamb souvlaki!
And you've mentioned this Fishkens place a few times. It's a new one on me. Is it worth a visit from Rita? I know I can rely on you for the hot tips regarding top-end dining, Sir G!

there are a few 'anonymous's' out there that are just plain nasty and it spoils it for the rest of us.

Thanks LT. I heartily concur. I just wonder exactly why people with feelings and attitudes like this read these blogs. There are many things and people in life I totally disagree with. I know this, so keep away from them, whether they're people or issues.

My advice, for what it's worth, if you feel like that, start your own blog and say exactly what you want to like-minded people.

It appears your office is quite near Mezethes, so you're in a great position to be an authority on their souvlakis.
Re the Anonymous' - do you mean 'they shouldn't be allowed' full stop, or 'they shouldn't be allowed' to comment, and you think I should delete comments like this from the blog?
I didn't know about the lamb, Rita. The missus always goes in for the souvlakis while I park the car and mind the dog!

Well I never...I am smacked in my gob.
But I enjoy it, so maybe it proves something.
Fishkens is just a few doors from Dominic's....so maybe you could kill two stones with one bird.
Fishkens is a pretty down-to-earth local takeaway. Fish and chips, doner, hamburgers, roasted Nichol's chooks etc. But nice. And Clean and sparkly.
Gosh it must be hard not to respond to anons like 8:01.
It's hard for me to read it.
I know we've all leapt to Rita's defence at one time or another, and it still baffles me as to why, when someone is obviously not interested in this site, or doesn't agree with comments posted, it becomes a personal attack.
Is this their life. Trawling the internet to find sites to leave horrible remarks on?
I know I would find it very hard to bite my cheek, maybe even continue with my blog.
Please remember Rita for every comment like that there are lots of us who rely on you to tell it how it is, to keep us updated on food happenings and we all enjoy your sites so much.

Christina - thanks for your words of encouragement. I obviously agree. I just don't understand what anyone would get out of being nasty like that. But, if nothing else, it makes me glad I'm me and not them.
Fortunately I have a strong sense of self, so would not be put off that easily. My blog will continue despite nasty people like Anon 8.01
