The view from my porsche...?

What's wrong with all these Southern Tasmanian food bloggers? I left the Bloggers Lunch two hours after the others, and arrived home this evening assuming I'd see food reviews posted on everyone's blog - and what do I see? Nothing!
Well - to report back to anyone who might be interested - we all lunched today at Victor and Reb's place near Cygnet.
The food= average
The company=only just average
The weather=could have had better weather
The venue=shit
Well - see for yourselves........
Pictured above - the three Steve's; above that - the dessert assiette; above that - Steve C's quail and Victor's chicken curry.
Believe me, it was hell on earth at the blogger's lunch today!

Very funny Rita, except you can't spell Porch :-)
In our defence we have been tweeting photos like crazy!
Great day.
Lovely to finally meet you.
Cheers

Reminds me of a joke I once heard.
A guy paid a blonde $50 to paint his porch. The blonde came back a few hours later so proud of the finished job, and said "oh, by the way it's not a porch it's a ferrari!"
Sorry.

Thanks Stephen. Tweeting, schmeeting! Pfft! How can us non-twitterers (there are only two of us in existance, you know!) know that?
Colette - you missed a brill day, Make sure you make it to the next one! I think everyone decided to return to Victor's next Sunday, whether he likes it or not!
Christina - good one. The porsche/porch joke was made by Reb who, on observing out the window a Porsche parking then realising it was Stephen E, commented "He should call his blog The View from my Porsche" - which I found hilarious!

Oh, no! You should have told me, Rita! After all, I have already moved the tables and chairs back into the garage. I'm not moving them back out again for at least another year! LOL!

Well, so when is the next social event guys?? Maybe at Ut Si? That is for Colette not showing up!

Hey - thanks for putting this up, Rita.

Nice to meet everyone at last.

New recruits - anyone?

I love my Spiderman T. It matches the colour of my socks (not shown) :-)

PS I like the assiette of Steves!

Is it the superhero's devotion to justice that overrides his devotion to the law that you identify with Stephen?
(Son #1 wants to do his Ph.D. thesis on the mythological patterns of the superhero...God help us!)

the socks also featured a colourful flourish of yellow if I'm not mistaken.

(I tend to notice things like that).

Oh, I noticed it, Stephen E. It was a perfect colour match of turquoise blue. Am I correct? :-)

Hi Rita!
What a super day with all the right ingredients:

take 3 free-range Steves
place in a sunny spot by the river to mature
add a bouquet Huon of Victor, Michelle & Rita
to a stock of merry Mary
serve by a waitress of wisdom

enjoy in moderation...

The three Steve's look like they're about to break out into song, so I'm thinking they're more like the three tenors!
Maybe a bit of Pet Shop Boys. eh Reb?

It was a great day indeed Rita.

Nice little recipe BTW Mary.

Was it just me or were the rest of you shocked to read Ritas confession that she didn't lift a finger to help the poor exhausted Victor & it took him two hours to haul all the furniture back up the hill?!

Matt Evans is down that way isn't he? Did he try to gste crash with his film crew?

Rita said...

Get stuffed Steve!
Anon 1.51 - yes Matt is down that way, and we DID have what appeared to be a film crew present but I think it was more likely a brace of food bloggers with cameras and mobile phone cameras at the ready!
I gather many pics were tweeted after the event.
Mary - well said.

Don't know about those Steves being three tenors, Rita, more like three fivers.

Hey Sir G - you will be interested to know that you were one of the more interesting topics of conversation on Sunday - with the others feeling sure I knew your true identity! I hastened to reassure them I didn't have a clue, but had stalked some poor unsuspecting man a few years ago, thinking he could have been you, given hints I had had from previous comments made on the blog!

My goodness. I wondered why my ears were burning. Thought it was just that I was drinking Peroni and cooking the missus a stir-fry as the weather warmed up.
Interstate man of mystery, eh?
The gathering looked good fun with lots of nice people, Rita.

Off topic but on the Matt Evans comment earlier, he really has gotten offside with quite a few people here. It seems that the main source of disquiet is that he sidles up to producers, pumps them for info, works it into his vanity project tv show, then drops them like a hot potato once he's gotten what he needs all the while adding to the illusion that he's some sort of self sufficiency guru, gourmet farmer my arse, give us a break!
The guy is a phony, pure & simple.
My advice: If he makes contact with you, its probably because he wants something from you which wont be recipricated

ha ha & touche. We are one of said "producers" & can confirm that our experiences with Evans has been less than satisfactory, we have been waiting to see if anyone else is game enough to say out loud what we've witnessed over the last year. Once bitten.

I too am one of the above metioned "shafted and somewhat jaded" produces. I however have had no problem holding back on making my opinions vocal! As they say, you meet the same people on the way down as you met on the way up!

By the way nice hat Steve!

Thank goodness its not just me! I'm sure beneath that shallow, opportunistic & callous exterior lurks the fragile heart of a decent human being replete with all the trappings of common good.
Or maybe not.
