Enjoy a nose-to-tail dinner with Slow Food at the Farm Gate Cafe at Kettering on May 23. Lee Christmas, who raises wessex saddleback pigs he then cooks, will prepare the suckling pig dinner. Soon after, the cafe will close for a winter break.
The dinner costs $75, or $65 for Slow Food members. A bus will leave Hobart at 7pm and return at 11pm, and you can bring your own special wine. Inquiries and bookings: 6225 1104.

Farm Gate is no more. Its now operating as Rosie's (Gluten Free)Cafe.

The place where Rosie used to be (just north of Snug)has reopened as a bakery. They do good pies and will at some stage be opening as the retro "Caledonia Cafe". This is what the place was many years back and the new owners are keen to replicate the original feel.
