Attended our first bloggers dinner here and what a sensation it was. I’m still reliving the experience months later. The ultimate in Tassie dining. Can’t wait to go again. Couldn’t recommend MarqueIV more highly.
Took my partner to Marque IV the other night as it was his birthday. Service was very very good and the food was well worth paying for. Would defo go back again....once I have saved up some more $.
We ate at Marque IV last weekend and I’ve been raving about it ever since.
Our table of four enjoyed the 6 course signature tasting menu and it was a delight.. an extraordinary array of beautifully presented, very tasty food complemented by friendly, knowledgeable service.
Marque IV is not cheap but worth every penny.
Marque IV has new seasonal a la carte and six course degustation menus and on July 30 is presenting a five-course dinner matched with champagne in conjunction with Vogue Entertaining & Travel.$180. 6224 4428.
This comment is too long for your blog site but I have to tell you what a great night we had at Marque IV on Saturday.
To start with I phoned 24 hours beforehand to advise that my original booking had reduced from 12 to 6 due to circumstances beyond our control and was treated with more courtesy than I ever dreamed I’d get, given the short notice.
Both the meal and service were exemplary and I would like to nominate Leigh for his exceptional service.
We had with us two friends from Sydney who are regular world travellers and they said that it is the best restaurant they have ever been to both for the magnificent blend of flavours in the food and also the service.
Once again it was worth checking your blog site before making a dinner booking.

Went to Marque IV toady for lunch. Never been before but just had to ry it before Sir Paul leaves on 24 July.
It was all good although it has a sort of formal feel about the place. Couldn't fault the food or service.
Will try again in a month or so to see how it fairs post-Foreman.
We ate here 7 August and had a FANTASTIC meal Service was as excellent as the food.
Is Marque IV closed? We are in Tas on holiday and tried to book over the phone (no answer) and in person (restaurant dark on a Friday night). No signs of renovations going on, so what's the story?
It didn't really survive the loss of its key chef a year or so ago. Its been rejigged a couple of time and has been for sale.
Suggest you try some of Stu's list:
Very good rest and cafes Hobart
Garagistes
Sweet envy
Pigeon hole
Me Wah
OK rest & cafes Hobart
Smolt
Piccolo
Montys
373
Ethos
Raincheck Lounge
Henry Jones
Lebrina
Tricycle
The Source
The Source, Montys, Smolt, might be closest to what you might have been looking for but don't miss the more relaxed Garagistes and Ethos
I think it was a lot more than losing chef. When we went last year:
> tried to book by phone and email and never got a reply
> service was patronising and impersonal
> no atmosphere and constant clang of glasses and cutlery being set up for next service
> food was mixed but unchallenging
> overall was utterly disappointing.
Anon's list covers all the bases whatever Marque IV's status.
