Apology from Rita

Rita would like to apologise to her readers for the lack of input lately on her blog site.

The past 8 weeks have been spent on a jury case, which involved a high level of legal information and court practices to be observed.

I hadn't anticipated my reactions following, particularly, the jury deliberation, and subsequent findings, not to mention sentencing.

As I have professed upfront on my profile on this blog site, I am an interested observer of my fellow man, and thus, also a concerned human being. My recent experience, and its affects on others, has affected me more than I could imagine.

I need to assimilate my recent experiences before I can resume life as I previously knew it.

Can relate to your reaction to the jury trial process, and as a recent convert to your blog, look forward to you resuming when you're ready!

Oh dear. I hope the trauma will be short-lived. I've never been called for jury duty, but don't envy you.

Sorry to hear of the emotional drain on you, Rita.
I hope (and am sure) you can bounce back to full Rita-Ness as soon as poss.
You're regulars will sympathise, as I do.
Cheers, Sir Grumpy but Loyal.

Hi Townleyh - welcome to you. Glad to have you on board.

and to Lonie & Sir Grumpy - thanks to all of you for your empathetic thoughts.

I thought it would be easy, and simply a matter of listening to the facts as presented by both sides, weighing them all up, discussing it as a group, coming to a conclusion, providing the conclusion to the court, then wandering off into the sunset to resume life.

As a thinking and feeling human, I found it not as easy as that, for me.

So - please bear with me while I 'ground' myself, and get back into the swing of life; start the Xmas preparations; experience a few new eating venues and blog about them.

Two months spent in a courtroom, and away from 'normal' life will take a bit of coming down. And my work will certainly be glad to see me back at my desk!

Rita dont let this get you down.

If it helps, I always go guilty, guilty, innocent, with those multiple choice questions! Does it make a difference I hear you ask? Maybe not, but does it anyway?

Kinda like life in general really!

Multiple choice, take your pick & get back to what you feel you can really make a difference with.

Thanks to you Gobbler, Zelda and Anon 5.11.

Gobbler - good advice! I'll go back to food. You can't go wrong with eating, really, can you?
Zelda - that chocky sounds great - I'll sample it next time I'm in NHobt.
Anon - sage advice. I'm getting there, slowly! A chance meeting with Domenic from Asian Restaurant in Blackmans Bay this afternoon cheered me immensely. He was very enthusiastic, and happy to meet me.
Thanks to you Dom, and your wife.

I saw Dom and his wife too, yesterday Rita. Perhaps we passed on the street and never realised who the other was.
You would have recognised me... just like your Hugh (the spew) Grant but more handsome and better built, with more money and a personality!
Seriously, I did see Dom and his missus yesterday, but it was at Blackmans Bay.
Cheers, Sir grumpy

Sir Grumpy - you are a true dag! And yes, I DID notice the Hugh Grant look-alike. I followed you round for a while, then realised you had a lady in tow, whom I now know to have been Lady Fair. Thank god I didn't cross her! I'd hate to make an enemy of her.

Seriously, I saw Dom at Spice World.

Kzee - thanks for those kind words.
I'm feeling lots better, especially after a pleasant night out at Peacock Theatre watching a good play performed by a bunch of mega-talented young ones. Inspirational stuff.

That lady was Jemima Khan, Rita. I only see Liz Hurley on weekends.
