Drink wine at your peril!

I was interested to read in todays Mercury the account of how bad for your teeth red, and more particularly white wine, are. According to the article, it's due to the acid content in the wine. Beer apparently isn't bad, just wine.

So, all you wine drinkers out there - the message is clear - brush your teeth within 2 hours of drinking your wine, or risk dental degeneration!

Have just read that red wine helps prevent gum disease (livescience website)
Speaking of wine, have you come across this site before Rita?

Ahh, now, Rita....you see the trick is to clean your pearly whites before bed...but also to nibble some cheese with the wine.
What cood be perfecter?
A bit of King Island cheddar to protect your teeth and go perfectly with the D'Arenberg High Trellis Cabernet Sauvignon?
C'est si bon.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you don't chew wine, so who gives a F***.

Sir G, D'Arenberg and a good cheese, mmm.

Cartouche.

Just make sure that your cab sav and cheddar are at the correct temperature to keep those fangs sharp and shiny, gromit!

I once had to go through a long and drawn out teeth stripping because I worked in a cellar door and drank too much wine.

It pretty well said not to clean your teeth straight away as the teeth are too sensitive from the acid attack.
So the only possible solution is the Sir Grumpy method. Cheese plus wine. Next time you see a wino in the street give him some pyengana and sleep with a clean conscience.

That must-a been why Count Dracua said, "I never drink.....wine."

Moi cooks with but never drinks.....wine, anymore.

So now I'll work this to my advantage.
Hubby and I shared a lovely bottle of 9th Island Pinot today. And what a lovely day it was!
Sunshine, fresh air, fantastic company, oh and did I mention we were at Farmgate enjoying lunch courtesy of the so friendly and hospitable Lee and his staff! What a beautiful day we had.
Dined on a shared Ploughmans Lunch served with Lee's own ham. Must say I've never had ham like it in my life. Exquisite. And the cherries. Did I mention them?
Pickled cherries from Middleton. I purchased 2 jars while there. Oh divine they were. A perfect companion to the ham.
We then shared a wonderful caesar salad Rita, with Lee's bacon scattered through, and flathead fillets with homemade tartare, chips and salad. The caesar was wonderful, oozing with runny egg, and salty with anchovies, but the flathead was among the best I've ever had, and that's from a girl who grew up fishing with her Dad and eating flatty about twice a week for sixteen years or so.
I was so pleased to see the cafe flatout and Lee said the Saturday was the same. Good news travels fast in this case.
So we plan to return in a fortnight so I can pick up my sausages that I've ordered. Taking the family this time so must book soon. Oh and some red wine. This is what this post is about, isn't it?
