Master or Mistress Chef

Stupid Rita started watching Master Chef last week – and has subsequently got quite sucked in, much as I hate the concept, and disagree with the way they’re conducting this supposed search for Australia’s top cook.

One particular contestant has really got up my nose – that horrible, know-it-all smartarse Aaron. Now there’s one guy I’m praying gets voted out of the Master Chef house!

It annoys me that most of the contestants are aged between 20-40. Are these the only people in the country who cook?

Anyway – it looks like I’m stuck with watching at least till my bête noir gets eliminated.

Yes, he's full of it that lad. Mind you I never fell for Melissa's waterworks, She even tried to get one of the blokes not to vote her off, then voted against him! Unbelievable. Then she was all Oh, I don't need this show to vindicate me...I am my own person already, sorta thing. arrgh.
The bloke from the submarine I first liked, now he's full of himself too. And after the missing beef, is it Tom (?) ...not sure about him.
Not that I'm paying attention or anything.
However, I reckon it should be called three fat blokes and a giantess.
The judges are podgy and the female announcer is about six feet 3 in the old money and wears 6-inch heels on her herculean legs.!!!!

OK Sir G - who are you putting your money on as ultimate winner?

Poh? The Greek mama Red team leader winner of tonight?

I agree with sir G & Ritas call.
I want to set fire to Aaron & drag him through town behind my ute(only kidding!)
The pretty-boy fishmonger gen y-er needs slap therapy!
That serial attention seeker PO who has a good eye, I might add, needs to be thrown overboard.
The wide eyed, narrow chinned bright spark who won a contest & actually shows some understanding of how a dish is put together needs to be eliminated if the show is about popularity primarily, clearly he can cook.
That Brent, photographer, is finally showing his true colours, he knows all about power & how to use it, pity he can only monkey see monkey do.
I like the odds of the tall black dude Tom, the older curly headed woman & the hispanic older chick.

I think they've drafted me in for the final cut, just for some class but I'm sworn to secrecy!
The one who won the first challenge and took on the first guest chef is going a bit ``I'm the leader'' and I'd like to smash a custard pie in his moosh.
Winner...don't know...hope its not evil-eye Poh or Tom (can't get over that beef...that was 9 portions at 20 dollars plus 9 portions less for the other team...not that I'm taking it seriously ot paying attention or anything......

I'm with Anon re Brent. I wanted to slap him big time tonight! That was after I'd slapped Aaron!
Yes - you did see Brent's true colours coming through tonight. He WAS taking the lead in the conversation, and not letting the rest of the tean in at all. I reckon it was due to him mostly (and the ambience he DIDN'T create)that the Blue team lost tonights challenge.
And what dickheads would serve up bought mayo on a cooking competition for a reknown guest chef? Hello?
It was obvious from the start that Team Red would win.

Can we put spoiler alerts on these please?

Sorry TG - but you'll just have to watch it when it's on, or not read the post or associated comments! Have you been sucked in as well?

Missed it last night but I love this show!
Hated the first week when they chose the contenstants but did watch it to see Jack.
I HATE AARON TOO! Thank God it's not just me he rubs the wrong way.
Hate is a bit strong really but I can't bear him. Bloody know-all.
I like the small lady with the curly hair to win or the guy who got married then left the next day for the show.
See what an impression they've made, can't even remember their names yet I have no trouble recalling Aaron!

Hi Christina - It was interesting watching the first episodes and having read Jack's account of her experience on it on her blog prior to it being shown. I tried to identify Jack - did you mange to?

Yes Rita,
very pretty girl in a blue top in the episode with the onions.
I'd seen her before in a video on one of her blogs.
Her account of the way things worked was great I thought.
Very interesting to go behind the scenes.
Even though I love the English Masterchef, I am enjoying this.
It's like a mix of Top Chef America, Masterchef, The F Word and Hells Kitchen.

Thanks Rita - am muddling through and too keep myself amused am keeping track of flower and food gifts. Am currently hiding in Dads office with my laptop, a filched internet connection, a packet of tim tams and am listening to my mum and family friends talk about anything and everyting while waiting for the funeral director. I really just want to be back in Tassie with Stephen and pretend this all isnt happening....cancer is a bitch.

Our thoughts are with you TG.

Meanwhile I'm glad that to round this post off, Brent got voted out last night. Now all we need to do is get that self-satisfied, smarmy, know-it-all Aaron out and it looks way better!

That Aaron guy reminds me of several Hobart chefs when they were young. But I agree - kick him off. My money is on Sam
